More About Me…

I am a wife and mother of two boys. I love cooking, spending time with family and being outdoors. I know firsthand, the challenges of maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle for myself and my family. I also understand the struggle to make it all come together every day and that sometimes we need a little extra help, support, and accountability to make real, lasting changes towards living a healthier life. I have spent years studying, experimenting and refining a practical, easy and fun approach to consistently living a healthy lifestyle, and I am passionate about sharing all I’ve learned with others.

Fun Facts About Me…

• I was born in Sunny South Florida, but now call Nashville my home.

• I have written a cookbook filled with 125 signature recipes that will empower you to be healthy.

• I have always had a passion for health and nutrition ever since I was a teenager.

• I got married during a hurricane, and 21 years later, I am still happily married.

• I love being outdoors, and especially love my trips to the beach. It is my happy place!

• I was an elementary school teacher for many years, and I still love teaching and being around kids.

• I welcomed my first dog, Grizz, into my home 3 years ago, and I can’t remember life without him.

Wow! I thought I knew a lot about health and nutrition until I did the healthy-paths program with Laura. It has been so motivating to learn what foods I should limit or avoid and WHY. Through the process I lost a lot of weight and continue to lose by applying what I’ve learned. I consider myself an intermediate to advanced cook, and I found Laura’s cooking classes beneficial for several reasons. I love the way she designs her healthy recipes into what she calls “Formula Cooking”. There is a freedom to be creative in the kitchen and not bogged down in the “exact” measurements. She makes it fun and creative to cook. I have learned several cooking hacks which have made my meal prep for the week so much easier, and my food tastier. The virtual online class allows for me to be in my kitchen which provides comfort and furthered learning.
